Hi all:

I did a forum search but did not find much about what I am asking. Is it possible (or will it be in the future) to have tabs (similar to Firefox) for multiple .doc files (and for the other programs in OO)?

I normally work with many doc files and this would be great. Thanks for any help. Smile

Yes, tabs are one of the most top voted features in the Issue Tracker, and someone developed this feature through Google Summer of Code.

From the summer of code entry, it is possible to have tabs? Let me go and try that. Has it worked for anyone else on Windows?

I tried that tab plugin. I copied the dll files and when I try to 'regcomp' I get that it failed to work successfully. And now OO shows the splash screen but doesn't start...

I haven't used the tabbed browsing, I suspect the libraries refer to an old release and do not work with the current release. Therefore, you will need to recompile the libraries.

How can I do that on Windows?

Has anyone gotten this to work on Windows?

Is this planned for the next release of OO?

Unless you have compiled large software before, you probably don't want to know.

Search the forum.

The answer is in the Issue Tracker.

I'm a software engineer, I've done compilations before.

I've searched the forum and found nothing useful.

Where in the issue tracker is this?

I've never built OOo, but it seems really hairy.

The target milestone is "not determined."
