OS: WinXP Pro / SP2
OOo: 2.01
Thunderbird: 1.5 (all German)
How does OOo connect to an existing Thunderbird Addressbook?
I've read forum threads and tutorials for hours and did a lot of installation and deinstallation. In most cases the connection could be established. But still it seems to be somehow coincidental that OOo finds the right Adressbook, if at all.
The most annoying thing was, that on on machine the connection could easily be established on one user account, while on another account (same machine and fresh installation of all Mozilla stuff) OOo reported that a Thunderbird addressbook doesn't exist.
Ok, this message says nothing about the real cause for the error, but:
When this "user-friendly" interface is so unreliable there should be a way to tell OOo where the undoubtedly existing Adressbook is located.
I know where it is and I want to be able to make it known to OOo.
If anyone knows of such a way, please let me know. There must be a configuration file in OOo where the information how to look for the Thunderbird addressbook is stored. It can't be hard-coded.

Nothing? Nobody?
Is there no solution or is my question too stupid?

The question is certainly not stupid.
There is an open issue at the OO.o site that I believe is directly relating to this point, but at this there is no indication of a solution.
The issue number is 50681

Thanks a lot for your reply.
There seem to be a lot of long lasting issues dealing with this behaviour.
Since I believe that the reliability of the data connecting is a basic office feature, I don't really understand why this has not been fixed for Version >= 2, but at least I know now that it is an issue.
