| When I print a spreadsheet, it also prints several pie charts. How do I turn off the feature that is creating these pie charts? Using OpenOffice.org 2.0 |

| Do you mean you want to print everything else but the charts...? If so, then Format -> Page... -> Spreadsheet -> uncheck Charts ... |

I just want to print the columns and rows. I have no idea where the pie charts are coming from. I do not see them in the spreadsheet. I assume there is some feature in OpenOffice Calc that is automatically generating them? I tried your "uncheck Charts" suggestion and it didn't work. |

Thatīs strange...
Only thing that comes to my mind right now is: Tools -> Preferences... -> OpenOffice.org Calc -> Show -> check that Charts is not set to Hidden...
Are the charts visible in print preview...? |

Under the Tools menu, Preferences is not listed.
>>Are the charts visible in print preview...?<<

Sorry, it must be Tools -> Settings then (my OO is in Finnish)...
Because the charts are visible in print preview it suggests that the charts are there but they are hidden... |

Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org Calc -> View -> Objects section -> Charts is set to Show
>>Because the charts are visible in print preview it suggests that the charts are there but they are hidden...<<
The charts are visible in print preview but they are not visible in the spreadsheet so they are either classified as "hidden" or being created by a feature/bug in OpenOffice 2.0. |

Now I really donīt have a clue what could cause that...
Do you have an example of a spreadsheet, where this is happening, that you could send me so that I can see it myself...? If you do, I can give you my e-mail address... |

| The spreadsheet contains personal information so I decline to share it. Nevertheless thank you for your offer to help me. I can work around the problem by using the Page Range feature when printing occurs so I will take that approach. |

Ok, I understand...
By the way, does this happen with all your spreadsheets or is it just in certain spreadsheet(s)...? For example if you create a new empty spreadsheet and then fill it with numbers etc., do the charts appear then too...? |

Just certain spreadsheets that have similar in content. The file format is .xls and when I read the file(s) using Excel the pie charts do not appear in the print preview. In my opinion there is a bug in OpenOffice but it is not a major problem. The only reason I posted on this forum was because I was hoping somebody else had encountered this bug.

No
Thanks again for your help. |
