If you're looking for a font-comparing program, download The Font Thing. It offers a good way of comparing text in different fonts, and sorting by type (serif, sans-serif, script, etc.)
From what I have heard, it's the best free one out there.

To zhangweiwu:
Abour SVG, did you try using this filter for importing SVG ?

Check this also:

It's a pity that Writer and Draw are not a single aplication. In Draw I miss a lot of Writer's features, that are normal available in Pro DTP software, like Adobe's Indesign. (although Indesign has a serious flaw: No Outlines !).
One question: Did you used a Opensource application to edit the photos, to create the nice shadows ?
To Kaaredyret:
I don't know "Scribus". I tested (very briefly) the freeware version of "Serif PagePlus" and stopped (this one can't handle EPS...). Do you know if Scribus provides Outlines ?
I mean automatic numbering:
1. Heading
1.1. sub-heading _________________ "Do one thing every day that scares you" |

I did't edit any photo, I put up the photos as they were on sxc.hu and no adjustment to photo color and shape at all. For shadow: that is very simple, go to "character style" and select "font-effect", select groove shadow. I even defined it in my style list (F11) _________________ Recommend Free Software Chinese fonts:

To zhangweiwu:
Thank you for your answer.
I meant the shadows on the images... (not on characters)
What do you mean with "groove shadow" on characters ? (I only have "shadow" available on Font Effects) _________________ "Do one thing every day that scares you" |

Which image has shadow? I don't know:) Even if there are images with shadow, they must had been like that before I use them:)
Groove is what I try to put into English from my Chinese version of OOO. I mean a kind of character shadow (there are two kinds of shadow for you to choose) _________________ Recommend Free Software Chinese fonts:

I can easily create these shadows with Photoshop, by I would like to know some Opensource alternatives.
By the way, thank you for the sxc.hu reference. I was not aware of this free photo stock. _________________ "Do one thing every day that scares you" |

I don't think it does, but it is not a word processor. It imports Writer documents when you are finished with them and then you place them. It can generate a TOC though. You stil need an image manipulation program, word processor etc. etc.
Scribus for Windows is only in beta, so beware. _________________ www.kaaredyret.dk - OpenOffice resources (templates, extensions, tutorials and more) !

From my last trial to use it (one year ago), I would like to call Scribus a "layout progream".
It's main task is layout. positioning, aligning, opacity, PS file generation, importa EPS.... By last time, I use it it is still buggy with a lot of CJK font, I guess mostly because caching the whole font into memory, 512MB is not sufficient for fonts like FZSong/Ming/Arial Unicode MS. I reported a bug but later it gets closed because "the software didn't (officially) say it is (expected to be) CJK enabled". So, as a result, I decide to try it back when it officially announced CJK support. That was 1.2 version. I'll check 1.4 when it is released.

Yep, Scribus is a layout program, at desktop publishing (DTP) program. In Scribus you design your publication by importing and placing graphics, text and photos from other programs. I like specialized tools.
Unfortunately you have that problem with CJK support, that is of course a show stopper.

Here you can find roadmaps etc. _________________ www.kaaredyret.dk - OpenOffice resources (templates, extensions, tutorials and more) !
