I sent an OO text doc to some one and the tried to open it w/ word and couln't. Is there a way they can view it other than me turning the doc into a PDF ?

| If you saved it as blahblah.doc (i.e. in Word format and not OOo's native *.odt) then it is their business what problem they have with their own machine, supposing they use MS Office. |
