I am having trouble understanding just how to create and modify a sheet with several border styles. If I create a range of cells with all borders selected, and then try to modify some of them I get unexpected results. Does a vertical line border between 2 side by side cells belong to each cell, or does that depend on how that vertical line was created?
What does the gray line in the user-defined graphic signify?
I think I need a user guide with the title "Cell borders for Dummys"

| If you select a range of cells and create common borders between the cells, then the borders will be applied to each cell. To change the common border between two cells, the border for both cells must be changed, either individually or by selecting both cells then changing the common border between them. This is different from Excel where the common border may be changed by changing only one of the cells. |

These borders are irritating indeed. They always mess up when you rearrange or sort something.
I only use them when a spreadsheet is ready for presentation to someone else. |
