Hi! I have a Word2000 document which I didn't open in a long time.Recently I opened it and saw lots of squares and strange symbols.I don't have a virus, I tried to change the font, but it seems like I lost all the data.Anything I can do about it?Thanks.
I run W98SE. |

| Did you open it using MS Office or OpenOffice.org? Not sure if you're asking a question about MS Office or OpenOffice. |

make a back-up copy.
try change the format of the copy file, by renaming it from x.doc to x.txt
this may help if the doc file had plain text.
if full of images etc, that images will certainly disappear.
try also this format: rtf (from doc to rtf, or from txt to rtf)
good luck |
