I am having an issue with the OutlineCrossRef3(-fr-3) macro that I downloaded from:
http://ooomacros.org/user.php#113812
It works great if I try to to place a reference internal to a document, but if I try to reference another document, I don't get great results. It inserts the reference field in the other document and places a reference field in the document I am inserting into, but there is NO text in the reference. It also does have the hyperlink ability.
I tweaked the code around and interestingly enough, I can be in one document, and insert the cross reference into the other document. This means that the control between documents is working properly, but references between them is not. I am new to OOo, but I do know that it has the capability to reference between documents. It seems that I read that this tool was able to perform the referencing between documents. Am I incorrect in this?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. _________________ Levi |

It actually doesn't have the ability for hyplerlinking to the reference to the other document. It is correctly navigating the other document though, as it correctly places the reference field and obtains the correct heading name/number from the paragraph heading. _________________ Levi |

It seems that references cannot be accessed outside a document (except for master documents but it is a kind of a global file considered as only one file made of several one).
For example, you can create hyperlinks to bookmarks inside other documents but not to references outside a doc. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

So I may just need to set each reference as a bookmark first, then may work for me? _________________ Levi |

Yes. But if you set a bookmark, there is no use of a reference mark for the same text.
Beware that hyperlinks to bookmarks are not updated if you change the bookmark text. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |
