It seems odd that no one is talking about this problem.
I just installed the new OO.o 2.0 release, and I'm seeing a very serious problem. There are no icons anywhere in the program, and checkboxes seem to be missing as well. Because of this, the toolbars are ugly, and the Base application is almost unusable.
I'm running Windows XP SP2 w/ Sun's Java 2 v1.5.0, but I used to see the same problem on beta versions installed on a Win98 machine. |

I just installed OOo 2.0 this morning in replacement for 1.9.130 and it looks just fine. _________________ jrkrideau

I installed OOo 2.0 on XP the other day and it works fine for me - all the icons were there! _________________ Steve Griffiths

I figured this one out.
The problem was that I had ZipMagic installed on these computers. It makes zip files appear to be folders, and somehow that messes with OpenOffice.org 2.0. Turning off ZipMagic fixes the problem. |

Same problem posted as Issue66540
W2k 2195, OOo 2.0.2, ZipMagic 4.0.2.75
Work Around - disable Zip magic, but just on the drive that holds OOo 2
ZipMagic Properties ZipFolders Drives
Then uncheck the drive containing OOo 2 executables
That way the ZIpMagic functionality remains on all the other drives.
Unfortunately the ZipMagic Applications property doesn't seem to cure it.
Reason is that all the eyecandy (16Mb) is Zipped in 2.x. whilst 1.x held the icons as lots of small files. OOo 2 tries to unzip files that Zip Magic is presenting as folders. |
