It seems that Writer automatically creates a bookmark after I copy and paste something from Writer to a program called QuarkXPress. When i paste the copied text (from Writer to QuarkXPress) I get this text
RFT bookmark start: } DDE_LINK1
Any ideas why this is happening? Im stumped. |

It does create a bookmark (appearing in the Navigator pane as 'DDE_LINK') but there shouln't be any text at all in the Writer doc.
Can you reproduce it if you copy-paste as DDE link from a Writer doc to another Writer doc ? _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

No, the link does not produce any text when copying from Writer to Writer. The only case I have found is when copying from Writer to QuarkXPress, which is a layout editor for the newspaper I work for.
Is there a way to disable DEE links altogether?
Thanks for your reply. |

Just a precision : the additional text is in the Writer doc or in the QuarkXPress doc ?
If it is in Writer, it's a bug I think, if it's in QuarkXPress, it's a QuarkXPress issue, you can paste as text only but you lose the DDE link function (therefore, no update afterwards).
If you cannot paste as unformatted text in QuarkXPress, you can paste it in Notepad, then cut and paste from Notepad to QuarkXPress. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |
