Hello,
I am looking for the file format of Writer when a document is saved as an MS Word doc, was wondering where I can possibly find this.

Menu File>Save As and in the file format, select MS Word .doc.

It sounds like what you really want is the DOC format.
Problem 1: This is not published by MS so it is a lot of trial and error.
Problem 2: It is not documented of which I am aware.
