 Posted: Wed Dec 03, 2003 6:11 pm    Post subject: sum of 20,30,40=## I am sure it has to do with a set up on the SpreadSheet. when I insert numbers in 3 or 4 cells, such as: A1=20 B1=30 C1=40, and wish to add these numbers on cell D1, I get ## in that cell , or the the formula itself, instead of the sum amout. What do I need to do to correct this problem?

 Posted: Wed Dec 03, 2003 9:30 pm    Post subject: ### usually means that the cell is too narrow to show all the result. Make the cell larger and you should be OK. Make some filled cells smaller and watch the numbers change to ##

 Posted: Thu Dec 04, 2003 8:20 am    Post subject: This one was one of the first things I tried. It still remains ###, or the cell is filled with the the formula itself such as =SUM(A1;B1;C1)

 Posted: Thu Dec 04, 2003 11:02 am    Post subject: Try Options / Spreadsheet / View ~ Then Untick Display Formulas, it might be a good idea to check that the other options are set to what you want too. Hope that sorts it out for you.

 Posted: Thu Dec 04, 2003 3:41 pm    Post subject: Hi What are you actually typing? Putting commas in when I had a go came up with #NAME? Simplest is to simply type =a+b+c and you get the result. Alternatively if you are working in adjacent cells hit the autosum button. Perhaps I'm wrong, but have you just moved from Excel? Ian
