Is there way to use Openoffice in RED HAT LInux 7.3?

I have tried it in RED HAT Linux 9. and works fine.

I have this problem...there are some applications that we need that could not run on version 9 . And we also need openoffice Calc.

Is it also possible to have a version in Linux the "Terminal Server Client" in windows?

Help please...

I can think of no reason why OO wouldn't work on RH 7.3 since I had RH 7.2 that came with Star Office installed. Sun may have started charging for Star Office between the release of 7.2 and 7.3 so RH dropped it and perhaps hadn't picked up the free OO yet.

Now RH 9 comes with an older version of OO preinstalled but I have upgraded to OO1.1 without any problems.

What problems are you having trying to install on RH 7.3 and exactly how do you attempt to install.

well...
I have downloaded from internet this file: openoffice-1.0.3-1.i386.rpm

Then I run on the Terminal: rpm -ivh openoffice-1.0.3-1.i386.rpm

I can see on the path: ->Favorites->OppenOfffice.org-> openoffice - calc.

When I click on the path...nothing happens. Why do you think so.

And also... can you show me the file where i could download openoffice calc that could run on RH 7.3 and how to install correctly.

There is this file: Kspread and Gnumeric... but this application is not suitable for our needs. openoffice calc is more like excel.

TIA

I have been running OO 1.1 on a RH7.3 for quite some time now without any problems.
The steps you described are just about what I did. But I installed it on the server. Try running from a terminal by giving "soffice &"
