I have a word document with a table of contents that is linked to its corresponding sections, i.e. when you click on "2.3" in the TOC, it jumps down to the page which contains that section.

Since deciding to never touch MSWord again Smile I'm having a bit of trouble getting this working in OpenOffice. In the Navigator, I see all of the sections, and it jumps to them when I click on any header in the Navigator. However, I can't seem to get this working in the actual document, whether it's in doc format, pdf, or html.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would appreciate it!

many thanks,
Jeffrey

First of all:
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=26627#26627
Then, File -> Export to pdf, go on and check "pdf tags" (right now I only have an Italian OOo at hand, so you need to check the names!!)

http://www.tutorialsforopenoffice.org/tutorial/Create_and_Modify_A_Table_of_Contents.html#4.10.Add%20Hyperlinks%20To%20The%20Table%20Of%20Contents|outline

I found this, and I've generated links between the TOC and the text. An HTML file comes out with the links functioning (though ugly) but I when I generate a PDF, the TOC has blue underlined text but it is not functioning as links Sad

RGB - thanks for your tip - however, when I "export to PDF" there is no "pdf tags" choice - only the quality of the pdf (screen, print, press), nothing else. i'm using OO 1.1.5....

pdf tags were introduced on OOo 2. If an upgrade is not an option for you, try extendedPDF:
