|
|
I am in a new install/evalution phase. I have a medium size Excel 97 worksheet (cir 5MB)that I post daily. The lag time from open to working is 85 seconds for Calc and 4 seconds for Excel. I have applied the Tweaks for WinXP to use System Cache instead of Programs for memory performance and made adjustments to OOo options to reduce Undo steps to 20 and increased Graphics Cache to 128 MB, Memory/Object to 20 MB and reduced Cache/Inserted Object Number of Objects to 15.
The Tweaks to XP helped the program load time but, nothing has helped the file load/save time.
The CPU is P4/550, Memory is 512MB.
I can't understand this difference in fopen() times. The Excel fopen() and Calc fopen() shouldn't be that much different.
I will gladly work responses and post back. |

The OOo developers have been working on speeding up Calc, so the upcoming version may be a lot faster. You can try out the latest development release at http://download.openoffice.org/680/ _________________ OpenOffice Enterprise Deployment & Management

Thanks for the response.
Load time did not change with OOo-dev vs 2.0.3. |
