can I have it simply display the data without summing, averaging or otherwise doing something to it?

the purpose of the datapilot is to group things together. If you specify "groups" that are in fact unique then no "sum" will happen, you will get the raw data. This would happen if you specify an ID number for each row as one of the row criteria.

But you should look at DATA/SORT and FILTER. These may give you what you really want.

Use row- and column-fields only, omitting data-fields.
