Hi all,
I'm new here and am desperate to find a good word processing program with spell check and word count (mainly word count).
Does this program have a word-count component?

Your definition of "good" may be different to others. If all you need is basic word-processing and word count you might find that Jarte is adequate for your needs. It is certainly a lot smaller, easier to learn, and faster to load than Open Office, but then it lacks most of the power too.
However, it is a great improvement on Wordpad, which is the text processing engine it is based on.
