I am using OO v2.04. I use the Writer program ingrequently and find that I cannot activate the OPEN FILE command. Rebooting the computer clears the problem, but it recurs when I open OO after a week or two of non non use. I generaly leave the computer (Dell M90 laptop workstation) on for long periods and let it hibernate at night. Is this a known problem with a simple solution, other than a reboot?

That's very strange, Harvey. I am guessing you are running Windows, so try exiting the quickstarter instead of rebooting.

Thank you. I removed the quickstarter from the taskbar and the file opener worked. Thanks again.
