|
|
I have a small database need done by msworks for years, each new line contains all the information related to a single report, and after I put the information on the report, I use a report template where specific parts from the database are put in place.
example database: (calc)
date, time, activity, outcome
07:12:2002, 12:16, work done, no problems
08:12:2002, 11:42, work done, no problems
09:12:2002, 11:16, work done, no problems
10:12:2002, 10:38, work done, no problems
11:12:2002, 11:52, work done, no problems
12:12:2002, 12:36, work done, no problems
report example (writer)
--- complete A4 paper ---
=date

at =time, we found that
we have seen =activity,
so =outcome at =time

--- complete A4 paper ---
from works, I may choose any individual line, to create the report for any time period
is it possible to do it on ooo?
is there a similar use example I may see to fit my needs?
thank you very much. |

You're really talking about a mail merge feature right? The idea being, you have data in a spreadsheet or database. You then create a template in say Writer with fields from the spreadsheet. When you create the report, it will insert data from the spreadsheet in place of the fields. Is that right?
