| Type fn and then press F3: this will insert an autotext with a formula and a number range. |

Probably overkill here, but you can also number formulas by chapter and number (1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2 etc.)
To do this, use Heading 1 for the start of each chapter, enable Outline Numbering so that each chapter title is numbered. Finally double-click on one of the equation numbers. At the Edit Fields: Variables dialog change the Numbering by chapter: Level setting to 1. _________________ Walter Ditch |
