I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this but . . .
I'm a keyboard shortcut kind of a guy. I've found one that's missing in Writer: Format / Character / Font effects / 'Effects'. 'Underlining', 'Strikethrough', 'Font color', 'Color', 'Individual Words', and 'Relief' all have a letter underlined for keyboard navigation. 'Effects' does not. Can that be fixed? Sure hope so!

Menu Tools>Customize, Keyboard tab and create or modify the shortcut you want. Does it help ?
Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if it's ok. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

Thanks Hagar--your idea certainly would work, but my point is that 'Effects' was overlooked in terms of a keyboard shortcut on that page of the 'Character' dialogue box. So what I'm pointing out is somewhat deeper than creating a workaround will fix. Take a look at the 'Font Effects' tab in the 'Character' formatting dialogue box--you'll see what I mean.
Not '[Solved]' yet,

That's funny, I confirm this for the en-US UI interface. I also use the French language pack and there is a shortcut for the equivalent of Effects ! _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

If you are bothered about getting to Effects by just using the keyboard, you can always tab there from one of the other options. I presume you know this and are just pointing out the omission.

Yes Geoff, that's my intent. Just wanting to point out the omission to improve the product.
