When I look at my "Home" view, I see:

When I click on that to get the "Search" view, I see:
| Quote: | | Search found 57 matches |
These numbers were always pretty close in the past (within one or two), but recently (maybe the last week to 10 days), they seem to be consistently way off.
Any idea why? Is this something to worry about?

| I'd also be interested in knowing what causes this difference. I've always assumed that the larger number was the total posts (including spam) since my last sign-in, and the smaller number was the number of posts left after spam posts were deleted. |

As I write:
Home - 209 new posts
"Search" - 99
I've always assumed the number on the home page to be the number of posts, and that on the "Search" the number of threads which have one or more new posts in them. I don't recall seeing duplicate thread titles and a quick look through the listing now seems to confirm that (but 99 is a few too many to be sure...).

Search: Search found 21 matches
Like Dale, I've always assumed the number on the Home page to be the number of new posts, and that on the Search page the number of threads, which have new posts in them.
