OO 2.2 Writer Freezes under Linux FC6

Hello Group:

My OO 2.2 Writer Freezes when I attempt to use the menu items, i.e. File, Edit, etc.
I'm running OO 2.2 under Linux FC6 (rpms) with Sun Java JRE 1.6.0_01. I'm also running Xen however I'm using OO in dom0, i.e. no virtual machines are running.

I've removed sun jre completely as well as all openoffice RPMS and the user directories
".openoffice.org" then reinstalled the JRE as well as Openoffice 2.2.

I created a new document and then attempted to save it at which point
the applications on the screen seemed to "freeze."
The mouse continues to work but I receive no response from
other applications. I have to log in from a remote machine and reboot the machine to remedy the problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yes, there is a broken package in the Fedora distro but I can't remember where I've found the thread about that. I'll search a bit and post the link if I find it. You should look at the Fedora forums, I'm sure it must have been discussed.

Any ideas on why OO 2.2 FC6 Linux from openoffice.org is freezing? I'm not using the rpms from FC6 but the ones from openoffice.org.
