Very Strange ...
---------------------> OO 2.2
When I enable 'Regular Expression's in my Tools->Options selection, it is back disabled when I start Open Office again ?
Try it this way ...
Open Calc, enable the Tools/Options/regular expressions
Close Calc
Open Again, the option is enabled ...
Open Calc, enable the Tools/Options/regular expressions
Open an Excel (.XLS) spreadsheet
The Tools/Options/regular expressions is DISABLED (always ...) you have to enable it again manual.
When you do the same with an ods file it is no problem ...
Does somebody know anything about this ? _________________ Peter Langenberg

The only reason for saving as xls is that the file may be opened in Excel. But Excel does not support regular expressions. When you open a xls then OOo has to assume that this file does not have any regular expressions in it. So the regex option is turned off. Unfortunately, without this option there is no pattern-matching at all. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org
