why do Ooo has maximum 32 000 rows and 256 collumns ???

Hello can somebody help me??? I was wondering when you convert some excel sheets into Open office I always exceed my maximum rows and collumns is there a patch for this problem ???? Because in Excel you have 64 000 rows its the double ???? don't you thinks we've got to do something because this is a great disadvantage ????

The row limit is being increased in the future - hopefully 2.0

Given enough memory and resources they could go for infinite rows... then Excel would be the lagging one Smile

You can install the newest version of Openoffice it's 1.1.1

Why? Has the problem been solved in 1.1.1? I don't think so. Just recommending people to upgrade is no help.

At the moment, the only Windows alternative to Excel for larger spreadsheets is QuattroPro, which offers up to 1 million rows and 18,278 columns on up to 18,278 sheets.
