|
|
Hi
I'm new to Open Office and have an Avery Wizard database I want to import into an Open Office database. The file is currently in a Microsoft Word comma delimited table format. I've been reading through the online support forums and am learning about database functions in Open Office, but haven't found anything to help me convert this type of file. If it helps, my main use for this file is to maintain a client database and print mailing labels.
Thanks,
Jeff |

Hi Jeff,
I think the way to start is to use Calc. As far as I understand from your posting, it is simply a flat table. You can easily import that table in Calc, and then use this spreadsheet as a database (if you really need that:)).
Hope this helps
Cheers,

Thanks Dick,
I was able to import it into calc and have set up a database, but haven't been able to get the information into the database yet. I'll keep working on that one.

Check your database to see if it has an Export option.
If so, Export to dBase. This can be opened with Calc or registered directly as a Data Source.
If not, have you tried copying & pasting directly into Calc? |
