Hi everyone,

updating from 1.0 to 1.1 i have a real problem using the Euro-sign in the normal Text. OOo wrapped a part of the line in which the Euro-Sign is, on one place. This means for example, that 15 characters are laying on one place. Since now I replace the Euro-sign through the word "Euro", but this is not really acceptible.
On other Computers there is the same effect. I use OOo 1.1.0 on SuSE-Linux 9.0.

Could someone help me? Thanks in advance!

I know this probably won't help you at all, but according to the ISO 4217 format for writing currencies, one should never need to use currency symbols such as "$." For example, for United States dollars, I write "USD." One dollar would be written as
Quote:
1 USD

The Euro code is EUR, so two euros would be
Quote:
2 EUR

Sorry I can't help you with your technical problem. Sad

Yes, in international banking documents and some papers it may be ok to write EUR instead of the sign.

But when I write an offer or an invoice or when I describe an article the
sign is NECESSARY.

I could help sometimes with a trick to place the text within a table box.
But this is awkward.

Sometimes it shows the text perfect on the screen but on the printer
the line is disturbed.

Indeed I go back to my old WinNT machine and use the WinWord.
OpenOffice is unusable.

I am angry.

I have an old Suse 8.0 with OO1.1 and the Euro symbol works perfectly with altgr - e combination. This is also true for OO1.0.3 and even the non German OO versions have perfect Euros ( ). Probably this is a setup issue for your Suse system.
