Announcement: OpenOffice.org 1.0.2
At long last, OpenOffice.org 1.0.2 is ready for download. Technically a "micro" improvement, one in which many bugs have been fixed, 1.0.2 is, according to reports, significantly faster than 1.0.1. There are no new features. To learn about all the bug fixes 1.0.2 incorporates, read the Release Notes.
As to whether you need to download it: that's up to you. Our many volunteer servers are fast enough and located throughout the globe to address your needs. We thank them.

Yay. Can't wait for the next release though because of the PDF export.

Glad to see there are newer versions being released. One day OpenOffice.org will be the best office suite ever! And everyone will sing its praises from the highest mountain tops! Okay, maybe not. Even though there is no great advancement here. I think that everyone who thinks that v1.0.1 is too slow, should try v1.0.2. It seems faster on my computer.

I have a athlon optimized under Mandrake 9.0 that it is really faster than version 1.0.1

My PC is an athon XP 1600 with 256 RAM and it loads the first time in 9 sec and once loaded it takes only 3 sec. It is clearly quicker to show up.

I find 1.0.2 dramatically faster on Windows XP. With the quickstarter in place, new application windows appear just as quickly as windows explorer windows, and faster than mozilla. It's virtually instantaneous.
