One of the really nice features in Excel was the ability to be able to highlight a range of cells and move them with the mouse by grabbing the border of the selection. I can't seem to do this in Calc. Is there any way?

It's even easier in Calc - you drag selected cells by clicking anywhere in the black highlighting, rather than having to precisely click on the border.

Dragging only one cell isn't as obvious, though. You have to "highlight" it first. If you drag from your cell to another, then back to the original cell, you should have only that cell highlighted (or should I say "lowlighted"...) and can drag it, just like huwg says.

Didn't they recently change the selection method for a single cell? I think there was a plan for it to be possible using a slow double-click.

Edit: typo.

I don't see that, but just playing around I see a neat way to copy from one cell to another. It doesn't copy format though. Triple click and then drag the selection.
