Hi,
When i open my .doc files in OOo writer, for some files the fonts and formatting is getting changed. Once I corrected the format and saved, again the formatting is changed when i reopen it in OOo writer. Please give me any solution for this.
Thanks,
Srikanth R. |

It helps a lot if you tell us what OS you are running OOo on and what version you use, but I suspect you run it on Linux, and that Linux doesn't support the fonts you use in Word. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

You got a Word file from somebody who has fonts that you don't have. The fonts aren't included in the file, so OOo replaces it by it's next best guess. The other formatting differences may be the result of OOo and Word using different means to do their job, and the .doc format is closed - it's a tough job to figure out what does what. Most simple thing will convert well, but expect things to go wrong when you want to convert files with complicated elements. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista
