Hello!
I'm confused about the stylist. When I create a new style and give it a name, that style does not appear when I open a new document. This isn't the only thing I'm confused about, but it seems like a good first question. Here's a related one. I'd like my default document to have a font size of 11. Under paragraph, i right click default, go to modify, change the font size to 11, but this doesnt have any effect on a new document. In general, I'm having difficulty figuring out which changes have a global effect, and which have a specific effect. Any guidelines?
Thanks,

Search this forum for 'default template' and you will find answers! |

Thanks Curtz. OK, I've got that down with the default template, but I still don't understand the stylist. Are new styles only relevant to the document that they are created in?? Somehow I doubt it. What am I missing?

Yep, styles are saved only in the current document. (Or else you would have 100000 styles to choose from after 2 years of using OOo)
To keep a style you must define and edit it in the default template. |
