I have calc setup with background white, foreground black.
This gives me a selection color of the complementary, namely background black,
foreground white.
Which look a bit spartan to me, to be honest.

Is it possble to retain the default background/foreground of white/black but
change the color of the selection background/foreground independently?

Thanks.

See whether you can find such an option in Tools >Options >oo.o >Appearance. I cannot but I'm using an old version of the software. I believe you will have to change your font colour. Even a slight change in the RGB elements may suffice: in the same Options section >Colours, modify the colour Black. Or select and modify a colour which is almost the same as black.
