I have a series of spreadsheeets that arte built on the priors days spreadsheets. Therefore, I save the prior days sheet, then SAVE AS todays sheet. When I go do emply the contents of the prior days numbers, the formating (background, borders, type of input) is also deleted.

So far, I've had to take a blank row with the correct formatting, and copy that over the existing numbers. Is there any better way of doing this?

  1. Select the cells you wish to empty.
  2. Hit the Del key. You should now see the Delete Contents dialog box.
  3. Check only the items you wish to delete (i.e. not Formats), and click OK.
Cheers,

Erik

simply press [<--Backspace] key instead of [Delete]
[<--Backspace] removes only contents
