Loading a font

I have recently converted to OO and missed my favourite Font - Garamond.
However, after a search, I found I could purchase it from Fonts.Com - so I did!
The problem I now have is how to incorporate that font in OO. I am afraid the Help file isn't at all helpful...I am not that unfamiliar with PC programs but I cant work out which file I need to load and how to load it.
The file I purchased was zipped - after unzipping it comprises:
GAE------.AFM
GAE------.INF
GAE------.PFB
gae-------.pfm
GAT------.AFM
GAT------.INF
GAT------.PFB
gat-------.pfm

I have spent some time looking at the Insert and File drop-downs but I cannot see any relevant loading utility so I would be very grateful for any assistance.

For OpenOffice you really need the .ttf which is free. Try here, for example:

The .pfb and .afm versions are really more system or LaTeX fonts:

I hope you haven't spent £100+ on a font you don't need.

Robert - thanks so much for your assistance. I didn't realise quite how simple it would be...I was looking for some utility within OO that would handle it but when your MS installation post prompted me to look at the Font file in Control Panel...it all fell into place!

Ref. your other comment...well the font had cost me...but fortunately not the £100 mentioned...but bad enough at £19.98.
Still I only have myself to blame for not posting my query on this excellent forum.
