I just reformatted my computer and I've just reinstalled OO cuz, y'all know its the best.
My problem is I'm retarded. I forgot to back-up my font folder before I obliterated my old install. Well after many grueling hours cruising the mean streets of dafont.com I've got back most of my favorites; after installing them, I opened up a fresh install of OO and have discovered that the fonts are not there.

Um, what do I do?

Windows?
Having them in a folder is not enough. They have to be registered. This can be done through the operating system, but there is also free software for doing it easily. "The Font Thing" is one. Google for more.

Start > Control Panel > Fonts - This is were they are installed, cuz thats where you install fonts.

I've done this a billion times and before I reformatted and re-installed (windows xp pro) everything worked great. Now, not so much.

I've never had to register anything before, seems kinda ... big brotherish.

Sigh. "Register" = "Install"; i.e., not merely sitting in a folder. There is software to make it simple, that's all. I, in fact, still use FontNav that came with WordPerfect 8. Dead simple, view fonts as you work, drag 'n' drop, with several other features. It's a Windows feature, not an OpenOffice or WordPerfect feature, making them available to other applications as well.
