It's the standard phpBB one. I don't think it's going to change as it is exactly how most users are used to. This is the advantage of using a forum system that most people know.

I agree it's ugly, most forums customized the look of phpBB as the default is plain ugly
look at the new OOorg forum, it's awesome, very neat looking, I like it a lot |

If you're using Firefox then click on View | Text Size | Increase

AFAIK, the only person with rights to do that is one single forum admin. It seems to me that he (I assume the gender from his forum name) ...

yes it is very true. the main menu should be eye catching and a bit user friendly as well, rest all the things are excellent in this forum , i recently joined and i like to visit here often......  |

i don't like when you need to scroll down to see the beginning of the content, for example LinuxQuestions.org

I don't think it's a big deal... As long as people know how to use it and can navigate easily then it has served its purpose.
