You can send any file as an email attachment.

| Could be more specific with your problem? You can't attach the file in your e-mail program or the addressee of your message can't read the file? Error menssages?... |

I believe what Meenal is trying to get at is that, having written a Writer document he cannot (as you can in Word) select a "send as email" option that creates an email using the content of the Writer file. _________________ Regards,

If you go
> file > send in tool bars section you have option of sending document as either a PDF or as a file (this can be in OO format of M$Word depending on what standard file format you save to).
Email program is specified in Options if you wish to adjust this |

Hello Everybody,
Thanks for quick replies. Yesterday i tried File > Send > document as a e-mail. I had given mail program paths from Tools>Options>OOOffice>External Programs.
Now when i click on File> Send >document as e-mail, I am getting compose box but the contents of file are not coming there.
waiting for reply.
Thanks.
Meenal. |

You shouldn't see the contents of the file.
You should see the file as an attachment, and the mail message empty.
Do you see that? _________________ http://www.interzone.gr |

| OO does not list the contents of the file as does word, it only attaches it as either a PDF or Writer file |

In fact Word only does this if Outlook Express is installed and set as the default editor - OOo isn't developed with a specific email client in mind so it won't do this although it would be possible to write an addon to get it to do this, although I haven't much experience of writing such things as the programming I have done has mostly been in developing Access databases or reading and writing to text files using COBOL or dBase - if you want to try you might ask in the forum on Macros and API.
Of course you can copy and paste information from your document directly into the email if you want it inline.
