Hello. I have a calc spreadsheet with downloaded survey data in it that includes some text entries that are on the order of 450 characters long. When I try to import the spreadsheet into a base database (internal engine) I change the type field for the variables in question to "Memo" so that the entries will not be truncated as with the normal text fields. The problem is, when I open the table, all of the memo entries are "0".
My guess is that I am missing something pretty fundamental here, any help would be much appreciated. I am running 2.3 under XP. I just want to turn out a basic printed report in the end, so I am not trying to do anything fancy with the data (numeric data is run through SPSS) -- just want to get it in so I can generate a report.

| Are you running 3.x? My post was using 2.3 and I have not actually tried to reproduce the issue in the new release. Cheers. |
