This same question was asked by Kerflops but not really answered. I think since 3.0 in Win (vista), the file open pays no attention to the setting in options/path. Updating to 3.01 has not helped. multiple reboots have not helped. I understand it could be a problem of where I left it when I closed, but I close in the directory I want, which is F:\My Dropbox\NorthShore. Any ideas?

Update: just like Kerflops, my openoffice started finally listening to file open and accessed the right driectory. Still wonder why it too so long, so many reboots. Oh well......
