|
|
By chance, I opened up the OpenOffice.org > 3 > User > Gallery folder on my Mac (OS 10.5) only to discover it fileed with a bunch of .WAV files (looks like songs, as well as various Windows event sounds). I DID NOT download these files. Did they come with Open Office? I doubt I've been hacked, but some of these files have today's date and I know I didn't download them. Anyone else have them on a Mac?
Any thoughts? _________________ -D |

The following sound files are in the gallery directories for Windows and Linux:
apert.wav
apert2.wav
applause.wav
beam.wav
beam2.wav
cow.wav
curve.wav
drama.wav
explos.wav
falling.wav
glasses.wav
gong.wav
horse.wav
kling.wav
kongas.wav
laser.wav
left.wav
nature1.wav
nature2.wav
ok.wav
pluck.wav
roll.wav
romans.wav
soft.wav
space.wav
space2.wav
space3.wav
sparcle.wav
strom.wav
theetone.wav
top.wav
train.wav
untie.wav
ups.wav
wallewal.wav
Although I haven't personally used the sounds, they might be useful for warning sounds for OpenOffice.org BASIC scripts or in tutorials where a collection of standard sounds in a known location would be useful. |

Thanks for the reply, but this isn't those files. These files look like music files and other weirdness, with names like:
Closer To Madness - Jesse Cook.wav
mansong[1]462222215.wav
MS-Sound-W98.wav
a door That Is Open 2.33.wav
Etc.
What is the gallery folder for? Is this something a developer left in by accident while compiling the installer? I got OO from the official OpenOffice.org site. Does anyone else with the Mac version have these weird files in this folder?
Thanks for any input. _________________ -D |

I think I figured it out. When someone sends me a PowerPoint file with a background music track, I believe it's dumping the music track into that folder when I play the file through OO.
Weird, but at least I think that's where this stuff is coming from. _________________ -D |

My dad knows someone who used to consistently send him PPT files, and they are occasionally accompanied with music. Thanks for clearing this up. _________________ BOB |
