Hi there.
Since updating to version 3, I get no spell checking and I cannot use the extension manager and I believe, that there is bug.
when I try to install extensions, no matter, from local source or via internet connection, I get: bad transfer url messages.
/home/pit/.openoffice.org/3/user/uno_packages/cache/log.txt:

According to the description and to my settings, I find:
| Code: | pit@syo ~:-> ls /usr/local/openoffice.org-OOO310_m9/openoffice.org3/share/extension/install
dict-de.oxt dict-en.oxt dict-fr.oxt dict-it.oxt writer2latex.oxt | All, what I tell here is true for other 3.versions too.
I see no files in /home/pit/.openoffice.org/3/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/, where they would have to be located. When I transfer them manually to that place, it did not work, not as zip, also not unzipped, also not in a folder 87.tmp_, as I could see here: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?p=364#p364
Well, I also tested with placing dic files from 2.4 in namely places and also brought different .oxt in place, it never is working. Something is probably missing in regard with that uno.
My System is | Quote: | | FreeBSD senyo.pit 7.2-BETA1 FreeBSD 7.2-BETA1 #0: Tue Mar 31 16:24:35 UTC 2009 root@driscoll.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64 | and the problem was there with earlier versions of FreeBSD also and also on i386.
Installation was out of the ports, what means, this is a more ore less build from source. Options was set to | Code: | | WITHOUT_MOZILLA=yes WITH_KDE=yes LOCALIZED_LANG=de WITH_CUPS=yes |
The behavior in OOo is, that there is no language-book available and no bloo-hook is to see at any language, thus, spell checking is not working.
Replacement-Lists are working as expected.
I would be happy with some workaround, maybe without uno and extension manager.
Thanks. _________________ "Two of the most famous products of Berkeley are LSD and Unix.

http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=15020
where I found nice information.
Using that, I get:
| Code: | pit@syo ~:-> '/usr/local/openoffice.org-OOO310_m9/openoffice.org3/program/unopkg' -h
/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/compat/pkg/libuno_cppu.so.3: Undefined symbol "_ZN4_STL8ios_base9_Loc_initC1Ev"
/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libunopkgapp.so" not found, required by "unopkg.bin" |
So, to me it looks like some SW is missing on my system? _________________ "Two of the most famous products of Berkeley are LSD and Unix.

| Code: | /usr/local/openoffice.org-3.0.1/openoffice.org/basis3.0/program/libunopkgapp.so
/usr/local/openoffice.org-OOO310_m9/openoffice.org/basis3.1/program/libunopkgapp.so | means, this .so ist there and installed.
So, I had a look in that script and see:
| Code: | # extend the ld_library_path for java: javaldx checks the sofficerc for us
if [ -x "$sd_prog/../basis-link/ure-link/bin/javaldx" ] ; then
my_path=`"$sd_prog/../basis-link/ure-link/bin/javaldx" $BOOTSTRAPVARS \
"-env:INIFILENAME=vnd.sun.star.pathname:$sd_prog/redirectrc"`
if [ -n "$my_path" ] ; then
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$my_path${LD_LIBRARY_PATH+:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH}
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

It seems, there is something not handled with the LD and this variable.
To bad, that I don't know more of this, maybe one of you. _________________ "Two of the most famous products of Berkeley are LSD and Unix.

well, it looks like!
So, I offer my workarround to the rest of the world, who might read this:
I just installed OpenSolaris on one spare PC and I also installed one Oo 3.x.y on it and got installed my Lang over that extension manager and it is working fine there.
I then took the complete ~/.openoffice.org/3/user/uno_packages/cache directory from that OpenSolaris installation and placed it into my FreeBSD at the corresponding ~/
As far as I could see, paths are identical within ~/ between Opensolaris and FreeBSD.
So, that worked fo rme as a workarround.
For those of you, who want to test it and do not want to install OpenSolaris first, I'le give you my ...cach here: http://weispit.eu/cache.tar.gz
hope, it might help.
That is for German-Users, DE spelling. _________________ "Two of the most famous products of Berkeley are LSD and Unix.

You can work arround the library problems when executing as root:
ldconfig -m /usr/local/openoffice.org-3.0.1/openoffice.org/ure/lib
ldconfig -m /usr/local/openoffice.org-3.0.1/openoffice.org/basis3.0/program
Then unopkg will work - but adding extensions still does not work on my system (FreeBSD as well)
| Code: |
olivleh1@kartoffel olivleh1> /usr/local/openoffice.org-3.0.1/openoffice.org3/program/unopkg add --log-file log.txt --verbose tmp/dict-de.oxt
Copying: dict-de.oxt
ERROR: Error while adding: file:///usr/home/olivleh1/tmp/dict-de.oxt
Cause: (com.sun.star.ucb.InteractiveBadTransferURLException) { { Message = "bad tranfer url", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @806ea9c50 (ImplementationName = "com.sun.star.comp.ucb.FileContent") } }
unopkg failed.
Exit 1
