Hi,

I'm trying to rewrite a macro that takes stories written in a newspaper publishing program to open office, and formats them for publication on a website (it changes the stories from a single column format to a full width one, inserts a line between paragraphs etc).

The format in use now does not pick up some special characters in the stories, such as fractions. I suspect it's a font issue - we use a font called News and that's not in Open Office 3.
Any ideas on ways to work around this would be much appreciated,

The previous macro was written in Open Office Basic; this one will be in python.

The operating system is XP and the Open Office version is 3.0.

Cheers,

Blair
