| data pilot when applied on a calc sheet with more than 5000 rows and 6-7 cols either takes too long to complete or simply hangs |

There are limitations in what pivot tables in Calc can handle. For heavy data processing, you need to resort to a database program at some point. _________________ --

Use a data base. You have over 600,000 entries in that one sheet.
As ftack says some things are too much for Calc. _________________ jrkrideau
