| I installed dict-lt.oxt and still do not see that red ~~~ no matter what I type. I had some luck with 3.1.0. Plz help. |

Try a complete reboot. Sometimes cures all sorts of things.
Have you followed the sticky in the Writer forum?
Remember that if you have created the document in another program or in another aversion of OOo you may have to set the language for the document. To do this do
Select all and then Tools > Options > Language setttings > Languages and select your language. Remember that installed dictionaries have a checkmark beside them.
