Hello,

I had OpenOffice, version from Novell. When I tried to uninstall this program it showed me a Message box:
“Please exit OpenOffice.org 3.1 and the Openoffice.org Quickstarter before you continue. If you are using a multi-user system, also make sure that no other user has OpenOffice.org 3.1 open.”
All files was turn off, but I have this message. Well, I manually deleted OpenOffice files from C/Program files. After that I tried to install OpenOffice, version from Sun, but the same message box interrupted installation. It doesn’t allow me to go further in installation.
Obviously, some piece of Novell’s version is still in live on my computer. Can someone help me to solve this problem?
PS: Vista is on my computer.

If the OOo Program Files folder has been deleted manually, you also have to delete a registry key before you can uninstall OOo. Be sure to backup the registry first.

For 64-bit Vista, delete the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\OpenOffice.org

For 32-bit Vista, delete the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OpenOffice.org

Same problem but in Windows 7. Is it a registry issue again? If so how do I correct it please?

Just do what BillP wrote above, and then install OpenOffice again, if you wish.
