Having problem editing text Solved

Hi I am new to open office and having a slight problem with writer. When I was writing a paper I noticed that I forgot to put in a space and had a spelling error. When I went to add the space it deleted the next letter and also deleted a letter when I tried to correct my spelling mistake. My question is how do I make these changes without having to rewrite everything after the mistake?

Never mind I figured it out after using a different keyboard the has an insert button. When I pressed the insert button I noticed a box at the bottom of the of the page that changed from over to insert. Right next to where it says the language.

Thanks any way for a great program.
