We use Impress to show sales specials and general store information to our customers via a TV in our store. I would like to display the current time and date on a slide seeing as we replaced the clock with a flat screen television. Any suggestions?

At one point (<=3.0?) this could be done by using a Time (variable) field. Every time the presentation cycled the time was refreshed. Sadly, this really great functionality has been removed in 3.1 and now it seems the variable time field is only updated on [re]load or print Crying or Very sad

I am also looking for an alternative but no luck so far.
