[solved] Datasouce not updating

I was not sure whether to put this here or on the base forum but, for better or worse, I put it here!

I created a database in base

Then I used this with a writer page (modified from a business card template)
Then I noticed some errors in some of the data I had entered and realised I had forgotten to include one of the fields I wanted (oops) and that I needed two extra fields to make the text2pic extension work

No problem - I opened the file in base, added the extra fields to the tables and forms, added some data to them and corrected the mistyped data in existing fields. (saved everything and closed base)

Now the problems started - I returned to my writer doc, hit f4 and no sign of my extra fields or modified data! pressed the refresh icon, zip!

Closed writer and went back to base - extra fields and data gone!
So - re-added fields to tables and forms.
Went to re-add data using forms and re-correct data in forms - What? it is already there!!
Saved everything, (again)
Shut everything
Opened writer doc and hit f4
This time my added fields are present but they contain no data and the corrections I made are not showing up either.
Pressed refresh icon (again) nothing changed

This is on ooo3.1.1 on Kubuntu9.10
Tomorrow i can try the same files on another machine with 3.2 but for now, anyone got any idea what is happening here?

Just to check I opened base, with writer still open, and all my data, corrections and added fields are present and correct
why is writer seeing a different set of data to base?

OK, next question!
There are about 85,000 members on this forum - anybody know which one is a complete and utter **********!

Somehow or other I got 2 copies of the database - one registered and showing up in the datasources browser in writer and calc and one I was opening directly in base.
Probably did it in moving files back and forth between 2 machines (by why?!!!).


Put it down to age (too little of it or too much of it, take your pick)
