Is there a way to bind a booklet at the top rather than at the side?
Here are the sizes of my project:
- Booklet size: 8.5" wide x 5.5" high
- Printing on paper: 8.5" x 11"
Thanks for any help. |

Sure. Set your page style to LANDSCAPE, then format the page for two text columns. When you print, select "2-sided", print the even pages first, turn the stack around (maintaining VERTICAL positioning), then print the odd pages.
The resulting product should Nicely Fold in the middle (don't forget at least 1/2" margin on either side of the Fold Line!), giving you a center-binding booklet form.
Hope this helps... _________________ I'm making perfect sense - you're just not keeping up! |

Thanks. However, I am trying to have the OO format the booklet. Meaning, on an 8-page booklet, pages 1 and 8 (size 8.5" x 5.5") appear on the same 8.5" x 11" printed page. Can OO organize a booklet? Or, must that be done manually?
Also, each of the 8.5 x 5.5 pages needs to have a page number on them. Therefore, I would assume the page size needs to be formatted to 8.5 x 5.5. Correct? |

Creating and Applying Page Styles
OpenOffice.org uses page styles to specify the layout of a page, including the page orientation, background, margins, headers, footers, and text columns. To change the layout of an individual page in a document, you must create and apply a custom page style to the page.
Changing Page Orientation
Changing Page Background
To define a new page style:
1.Choose Format - Styles and Formatting.
2.Click the Page Styles icon.
3.In the list of page styles, right-click an item, and then choose New.
4.On the Organizer tab, type a name in the Name box.
5.Do one of the following:
To apply the custom page style to a single page, select the default page style that is used in your document in the Next Style box.
To apply the custom page style to more than one page, select its name in the Next Style box. To stop using the style, insert a manual page break and assign it a different page style.
6.Use the tabs in the dialog to set the layout options for the page style, and then click OK.
To apply a page style:
1.Click in the page that you want to apply the page style to.
2.Choose Format - Styles and Formatting, and then click the Page Style icon.
3.Double-click a name in the list. _________________ Steve ~ Tennessee USA
