|
|
Hi
When i am trying to overwrite some text in the document, the existing text is still there and the inserted text comes after the existing text. While deleting a text section or paragraph,It still exists in the document.
I thought of using the INSERT/OVER option in the status bar but this buttons are not displayed either.please help me in this regard.
Thanks in advance
with regards

Please always tell what version of OOo you use and on what operating system (Windows, Linux, you name it).
Are you sure that the status bar is displayed? You can also press the Insert key to toggle insert/overwrite mode. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

Okay, so they work in normal documents, but not in specific ones. Forget the user profile for now (but click the link in my previous post and bookmark that page, or remember the user profile, it may come in useful).
You didn't mention that the deleted text has a special colour? It's possible that those documents have the option Record changes on. You can find that out in the menu - Edit - Changes - Record. (Simply click the menu to open Edit, move the mouse to Changes, that opens the submenu, if there's a checkmark to the left of "Record" then record changes is on. IN that case, everything is just fine, consult the Help about working in that mode.
If this solves your problem, please edit the first post in this thread and add [Solved] to the title bar. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista
